Chimney Sweep & Fireplace Cleaning in Santa Monica

We remove soot and creosote buildup from the fireplace and flue, check for visible problems, and work carefully to keep your room clean. It's a good job to book before your first fire of the season.

What we offer

  • Chimney sweeping to remove soot and creosote
  • Visual chimney and fireplace inspections
  • Firebox and fireplace cleaning
  • Chimney cap installation to help keep rain, birds and debris out

How often to have it done

The Chimney Safety Institute of America, following NFPA Standard 211, recommends inspecting chimneys, fireplaces and vents at least once a year, even if they're rarely used. It also recommends sweeping a masonry fireplace when there's 1/8 inch of sooty buildup, or sooner if there is glazed creosote.

When a sweep isn't enough

Hard, glazed creosote can't be removed by regular brushing alone, and a visual check can't reveal everything inside a flue. If we find something that needs specialist work or a closer inspection, we'll tell you plainly.

Where we offer this

We're based at 3254 Olympic Blvd in Santa Monica and serve Santa Monica, Venice, Marina del Rey, Culver City, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Malibu and nearby neighborhoods. See all service areas.

Frequently asked questions

I rarely use my fireplace. Does it still need checking?

Yes. CSIA recommends a yearly inspection even with light use, because animals or deterioration can make a chimney unsafe.

Do you install chimney caps?

Yes. We measure your chimney and fit a cap that suits it.

Will it make a mess in my living room?

We take care to keep the room clean while we work and tidy up before leaving.
